Six weeks of summer: Six top activity ideas for kids - Week two

Rachel Jones | June 9, 2015

Nothing says summer more than water-play in the back yard. Here’s a fun game to play in the pool or bathtub—use it to teach your children that that Jesus is the boss over nature!

Tell the story
Tell the story of miraculous catch of fish from Luke 5 v 1-11. Use these ideas from Play through the Bible to help.

Play the story
Try catching fish in the bath or pool. Use a colander, sieve or tea-strainer as a net and try using partially inflated balloons as fish to catch. You could put a drop of food colouring in the bath to make the water blue or green. A couple of drops of food colouring shouldn't stain your bathtub (or your child!).

(All summer here on The Good Book Blog we’ll be posting great ideas for you to have fun reading the Bible with your kids. See previous post here. Check back next week for another idea.)

If you like this, why not decide to play through the whole Bible as a summer project with your kids? You’ll see how the Bible is really one, true, wonderful story—and make lots of delicious recipes!
