Press Release: Brad Byrd to Transition from The Good Book Company to New Venture Spanning Publishing, Media and Non-Profit Industries
Purcellville, VA—The Good Book Company announces that Brad Byrd, North America Director, will transition out of the company at the end of 2018. Brad has led the company’s US organization in Virginia for the past 10 years, and has overseen a period of rapid growth as The Good Book Company has become a respected publisher in the US evangelical market.
Brad said, “I can’t begin to recount the joy it has been to work with such an excellent team of humble, servant-hearted brothers and sisters in growing a powerful voice in the US. Under the banner of The Good Book Company, I have had some of my proudest moments and greatest achievements of my working life. But after 10 years, I believe the time is right for me to set out on a new venture of my own that will span the publishing, media and non-profit spaces.”
James Burstow, Commercial Director (Global), said, “Brad has been a superb ambassador for TGBC, embodying the professionalism and gospel-heartedness that we strive for across our organization. He has been a key part of a hugely exciting time in the company’s history, achieving growth of 20% per year and a similar trajectory for 2019-2020, and establishing us in North America as a trusted and recognized brand. We are profoundly grateful to Brad for leaving us with such a tremendous foundation on which to continue our rapid growth.”
Carl Laferton, Editorial Director, said, “Brad has played a significant role in TGBC publishing some of the most respected names in the US evangelical church, including Timothy Keller, John Piper, Kathleen Nielson, and R. Albert Mohler. His work will continue to bear fruit as we launch titles by Matt and Lauren Chandler, Alistair Begg, Melissa Kruger, Randall Goodgame, and many more through the next eighteen months. Brad’s warmth and kindness towards all kinds of people, as well as his understanding of the local church that springs from his own commitment to ministry, will be greatly missed.”
Peter Anderson, Head of US Sales and Marketing, will be overseeing Brad’s key sales accounts going forward, and a recruitment process is already underway to identify new additions to the team.
