What will heaven be like? Answering this question for kids can be challenging, especially as it’s hard to get past the myths.
This beautifully illustrated, biblically faithful storybook by Joni Eareckson Tada excites children with this truth—that when Jesus comes back to this world, he will bring heaven with him! There will be a new creation where we’ll have new hearts and a new body, living in a new city. And best of all, we’ll be with Jesus, forever! It will be better than we can ever imagine.
Kids are encouraged to respond to Jesus’ invitation personally by repenting and believing. They will also be inspired to invite others, and to ask Jesus to come soon.
The perfect book for helping any kids understand why eternity with Jesus is amazing, The Awesome Super Fantastic Forever Party can also be used alongside Goodbye to Goodbyes by Lauren Chandler to help children who are grieving the loss of a believing family member or friend.

The title is long. The book is short. The author is Joni! Help your children (and grandchildren) long for the appearing of the Lord Jesus by reading them this book. Read like you mean it—the way Joni would.
A captivating book—winsome for kids and inspiring for the adults who read it with them.
This is one of the best children's books I've ever read about the best promise ever given, the promise of heaven coming to earth so that earth becomes heaven. Reading it makes me want to say, "Come quickly Lord Jesus!"
Such a great way to talk about heaven! My church kids loved listening to this book.
I loved giving this book to our grandchildren! A perfect analogy of Salvation with joy and an understandable picture of its truth.
This is one of my favorite picture book series for kids. They take the beautiful Truths of the Bible and make children’s picture books from them.
This is a hard book for me to review. Mainly because I’m hyper-sensitive to when people describe what Heaven will be like bc the truth is that no one knows exactly. The author states that each day will be better than the last, we’ll meet new people, see new places, and learn new truths about God. That sounds wonderful, but that’s speculation. We might be in one place with the same people. The author did touch on the new Jerusalem, but I wish that more Biblical references would’ve been emphasized.
One thing I thought that was lacking from this book was any mention of repentance. When the author is describing how to “respond to the invitation”, I would’ve loved to see a page or so about repentance since that is a primary instruction given by Jesus.
Re: 2 page spread about old/new heart. I think was wonderfully done & the illustrations really help to bring the words to life, but Jesus gives us a new heart here and now! That’s part of the beauty of His grace. He doesn’t wait until we get to Heaven. We aren’t perfect, but we do have regenerate hearts. I didn’t like the wording about Jesus waiting for the very last people on his list to reply “yes” before He will show up. It makes it sound like the decision for when Jesus will show up lies within human control when actually Jesus will show up when He has decided to.
All in all, this wasn’t my favorite book of the series, but I think it’s a hard topic to put in a book form in the first place.
I always appreciate the final page that includes the Scriptures that the book was based on. In my opinion, this is one of the most important parts of the book. The others being the emphasis that Jesus is the only way to Heaven & that He will be with us in Heaven. What an important Truth to emphasize to kids and what a comfort it is to know that we will be with Jesus.
The illustrations were beautiful, but I didn't care for how the story was presented as heaven being a big party which in my opinion would cause a child to see heaven in a wordly manner, rather than one that would convict and convince a little child to believe in a spiritual way that only the Holy Spirit can do. I returned the book.
The Awesome Super Fantastic Forever Party is the latest children's book by author and speaker Joni Eareckson Tada. It is also the latest addition to the Tales that Tell the Truth series from The Good Book Company. This story helps young readers fix their eyes on Jesus by helping them understand that a new and better world is coming along with His return. The Awesome Super Fantastic Forever Party expounds on Revelation 21:4 and encourages children to be excited for eternity, a time when all tears and pain will cease and those who have placed their faith in Christ will be worshiping Him together forever.
Since attending parties is generally a common childhood experience, Joni uses that to help them view eternity in the same way. The illustrations in the book are lovely and help children understand how eternity with Jesus will also mean being made physically whole. While written to younger readers, this story even encouraged my heart and this is a book I will be reading with my children again and again.
My girls and I really like this book and I'm thankful for how it helps them understand that Jesus is our greatest treasure. I'm also looking forward to reading the condensed board book version of this story with my son! If you've also enjoyed the Tales That Tell the Truth series or are new to it, this is a book you will certainly want to have in your collection!
I received The Awesome Super Fantastic Forever Party compliments of The Good Book Company in exchange for my honest review.
I love this series for kids. This book is beautifully illustrated and explains what the Bible says about heaven. Not only do I get to teach my kids these truths but I grow in faith and understanding with them too.
In partnership with the Good Book Company, I was recently given the opportunity to review Joni Eareckson Tada’s new children’s book, “The Awesome Super Fantastic Forever Party: A True Story about Heaven, Jesus, and the Best Invitation of All”.
It is so true that it can be hard to faithfully and accurately describe heaven to our kiddos – especially seeing as how none of us have yet been there! But Joni does a masterful job in this book to take the biblical descriptions of heaven and distill them down in a way that is easily understood by children and yet still rich in Scriptural truth. The descriptions of the joy, beauty, delight, and comfort awaiting us in heaven are such a tender gift to parent and child alike as the book is read aloud.
Joni opens the book in a truly delightful way that children are sure to enjoy – presenting Jesus’ invitation to each of us as an invitation coming from an important, royal King. This invitation is to a beautiful, joyous, amazing party that will never, ever end, but will instead result in restored health, whole bodies, fears destroyed, tears dried up, and sadness banished forever. And nothing could be better than that!
While Joni Eareckson Tada’s words in this book provide the perfect gospel presentation for children, the illustrations by Catalina Echeverri which accompany Joni’s words are just a gift in and of themselves. Bright, bold, beautiful, colorful, and joyous – that is how I would describe these whimsical, delightful illustrations.
The words and the illustrations together combine to form a book that I highly recommend for addition to your family bookshelf!
*I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
All too often, the way we talk about heaven—even as adults!—is not accurate to how the Bible describes it. Which is why I loved this book by Joni Eareckson Tada.
In it, Tada presents heaven the way the Bible actually talks about it: It is the new Jerusalem that Jesus will bring with him to earth when he returns someday. There, we will get new hearts and new bodies.
But my favorite part of the way Tada’s book talks about heaven is that it presents it as a “super fantastic forever party” that we are invited to join Jesus at where we (along with all of creation) will praise and worship him forever. Along with this, Tada talks about the element of accepting this invitation of his in a way children can understand as well as an invitation we can ourselves issue by praying Revelation’s cry of “Come!”
This book is a beautiful way to discuss heaven and eternity with children and even a good reminder for us as adults about the beauty, joy and gracious invitation that heaven is for us all!
Many thanks to The Good Book Co. for providing a review copy of this for me.
This story is easy to understand and teaches kids how to accept Jesus' invitation to Heaven and also how wonderful Heaven is.
Joni Eareckson Tada encourages kids to share Jesus' invitation with others and then to give Jesus our own invitation of "Please Come Quickly".
I would recommend this book to any family with elementary age children, Sunday School class or elementary school. This book is for anyone wanting to share with kids God's love, His sacrifice for us and the promise of a wonderful place called Heaven.
A big thank you to The Good Book Company for this free book. This has been my honest opinion and is 100% my own.
This is a great series illustrated by Catalina Echeverri and they seem to cover some of the topics that other children's books aren't frequently explaining. The Awesome Super Fantastic Forever Party is another unusual topic, this time explaining why heaven isn't just what we expect it to be (e.g. all the chocolate pancakes you could eat!). It tells us about our new hearts, our new bodies and being with Jesus. It shows us the joy we will feel in the new creation and the joy we should have now as we look forward to heaven!
