Description

The word Hell conjures up all kinds of nightmares in people's minds. But also presents a difficulty for many Christians. How can a God who the Bible says literally "is love" condemn anyone to an eternity of torment? Will punishment be eternal? Is Hell for real?

In this short, accessible book, pastor and author Erik Raymond reviews this important subject for everyone with pastoral warmth and biblical clarity.

"A great place to start"

Ruth Clemence, Evangelical Times, Aug. 26, 2017

This a topic that I have grappled with time and again. This book – actually any Christian book on the subject of hell – makes for uncomfortable reading. However, as it is part of the short, readable series it is a great place to start unpacking this topic that is often shied away from.... continue reading

“One of the Most Significant Books I've Ever Read”

(Review written for 'Is hell for real?')

I read. Constantly. I have already read ten books this year, and of all those, Erik Raymond's book, "Is Hell for Real?", is by far the most significant and impactful one of all. In fact, although it is brief (under 100 pages) I rank it among the most significant books I've ever read in my Christian life, and I intend to give copies out to as many people as I possibly can.

“Sensitive, pastoral, real.”

(Review written for 'Is hell for real? (ebook)')

I would give this book 6 or 7 stars if I could. As a youth worker I'm always on the look out for short, concise and brilliant books. He tackles the subject of hell with great care and in a pastoral way, and without shying away from the truth. I've been a Christian for 20 years and the final chapter moved me as I realised afresh the mindblowing sacrifice of Jesus for my sake, and the importance of telling others.
