The Seek and Find books are fantastic for young kids. I've loved using them in our family devotionals with my 6 year old and 4 year old. This book is great fun, holds their attention, and teaches them the glorious gospel of that first Christmas.

When it comes to the Christmas Season, the most exciting things are the ones that don't matter and unfortunately for children, the most important things often seem to feel like the most boring. That's why this book is a gift—because it relays the events of the Christmas story, and memorable truths about the character of God and the person of Christ in a brief, totally not boring, biblically faithful, aesthetically exciting, and interactively FUN way. And it's the gift that keeps on giving, because in a hectic season, this book makes meaningful, quality time between parent and child simple and easy. Our family is so grateful.

“Wonderful book!”

Seek and Find: The First Christmas (2-5 year olds) This book is geared towards kids who are slightly older than the lift-the-flap version, my 4 and 6 year old have been enjoying this one so much! There are no flaps in this version, although it's still a board book, and the story is more detailed. I love how many things there are to find on each page!

This collection of titles are so sweet and engaging! We love all three of these books and highly recommend them if you have young children. Our children always attend church services with us and this has been a helpful way to keep them busy during the service while also keeping them focused on the right things! They'd make great Christmas gifts!

“A great book that will last many Christmas seasons”

My son was given the Old Testament version of this book for his Baptism so I got this one to use with him over Christmas. At only 2 he really took to looking for Ruth Wren on each page and enjoyed looking at all the pictures. As he gets older he will be able to do more of the counting on each page so we should get a few more years of use out of it for him.

“My kiddos loved it!”

I bought it as a meaningful Christmas gift for my daycare children and they loved searching for items related to the first Christmas. They are 3-5 years old.

“Lovely Board Book with Christ at the Centre”

Great board book for younger children which balances well between some fun challenges to find all of the items and a simple Bible story with a Jesus-centred message. Taking a sort of “Where’s Wally” style, it’s an excellent gift for a younger child. It's really well printed and much thicker than I had expected so will be easy to use with young children as well as those toward the top end of primary school. Definitely recommend as a book for your Sunday school groups this Christmas!

“Love this book!”

I was so excited to see this book being released. We have the OT and NT and my kids love them. Truthfully, I love them, too! It takes a fun activity for kids and makes it focused on the Bible instead of just seeking and finding random objects or popular TV characters.

Just like the other 2 in the series, this book is a fantastic way to teach children stories from the Bible in a fun and engaging way. Each 2 page spread includes wonderfully detailed pictures with Biblically accurate skin-tones, bright colors, and fun elements. There are 10 sets of items to find on each spread corresponding to the numbers 1-10. Scripture references from the gospels are included to read alongside the short summary in the book. You can use this book to teach children Bible stories, number recognition, and patience while looking for the hidden details.

Each of the 2 page spreads in this book focuses on the Christmas story. It’s a great way to teach young children the true meaning of Christmas in a fun way.

I really love these seek and find books and look forward to what they come up with next! The Easter story? Minor and major prophets? The early church? The miracles of Jesus? The 7 I AMs of Jesus? So many amazing possibilities!

“A Fun, Interactive Book for Kids”

Interactive books are always a win in our home! They’re fun, encourage thinking skills and concentration, plus books such as Seek and Find: The First Christmas, offer big truths for little hearts. The pages in this book are large and colorful while the “seek” aspect is challenging and exciting. I love that there is a mix of Biblical scenes that include people and animals. We found them to be delightful.

There is a small paragraph on each page offering the Christmas story, broken down in a way children can understand.

The paperback activity book that accompanies the hardcover Seek and Find book is appropriate for ages 4-7, in my opinion. My daughter is 4.5 and she is able to complete the majority of the puzzles, counting challenges and ‘spot the difference’ activities. She especially loves the mazes! The Activity Book follows the same order as the hardcover book and has the same paragraph (or big truth) on it as a coloring page, so we are reading one page a day in the Seek and Find book and then using colored pencils to complete the activities on the accompanying spread in the activity book that day. It’s been fun to do these activities together and spread out the fun over the advent season!

These books would be great for young siblings or families to do together. They’re interactive, can span a range of ages, tell the Christmas story and offer some fabulous Biblical truths, such as “Jesus is our rescuer,” and “Jesus is our true King”, always pointing little hearts back to Jesus! They’d make a great gift or addition to advent activities and family time!

* I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of these books from The Good Book Company. All thoughts are my own and I was not required to write a positive review.

“Point to Jesus”

Where can your kids find Christ this Christmas? In Seek and Find: The First Christmas, Sarah and Andre Parker present a fun and interactive activity book exploring the very first Christmas.

What I loved most about this book was how it displayed the different settings and scenarios in the Christmas story. While we often focus on the manger, it’s good to remember the journey that Mary and Joseph endured!

Point to Jesus

I especially enjoyed the kid-friendly illustrations. With biblical accuracy, every time an angel appears in the book — the people are frightened! It was a fun thing to point out to my children while also remembering the Good News from God.

This board book is best for ages 2-5. Have fun with your family and point them to Jesus.

I received a media copy of Seek and Find: The First Christmas and this is my honest review.

“Fun and Engaging Christmas Book!”

I was excited to see this Christmas edition of the “Seek and Find” series from The Good Book Company. The books each include eight stories from the Bible with a Scripture reference, short summary, take-away point, and of course detailed illustrations with plenty of items to find.

These books are really versatile. You can read them with younger kids (the story summaries on each page are a good length for even shorter attention spans) and point out different features on each page. Or, for older kids you can get them searching and counting the various items. Look up the Scripture references together and read those as a family too. Older kids can even work through the book on their own which is great for car rides etc.

This book begins with Mary’s encounter with the angel Gabriel, includes the travel to Bethlehem, birth of Jesus, and concludes with the wise men giving Jesus kingly gifts.

Book received free of charge in exchange for a review. All opinions my own.

“Great for kids of all ages!”

This is seek-and-find takes a 12-days-of-Christmas approach, instructing children to start off finding one object, then two of one object, all the way up to 10 of the same objects. They generally start off easy with large objects that you can’t miss. As the number of objects increases, they generally get smaller, which makes it harder to find everyone although none of them are “tricky” as is the case in other seek-and-finds.

I liked that it portrays a more accurate sequence of the Christmas, with Jesus’ birth falling about halfway through the story, followed by Jesus' visit to Simeon, the Magi seeing the star, visiting Herod and finally presenting their gifts to Jesus on the last page.

This seek-and-find book was able to engage all my children, ages 6 to 9. We did find that it was hard to keep track of the smaller objects that you had to find multiple copies of, so we used a dry-erase marker to help keep track. The pages are thick like board-book pages, so they can withstand this and erasing.

“Great for older children who have trouble reading”

It was great for 6-9 year olds. It’s not just finding an object. It practicing counting.Multiple objects on each page to find. Plus different numbers of objects. I bought for my religious nieces and also non religious nieces. Christmas story with a different.
Even my 3 year old niece can use it. Pictures are great.
